our metals

All our hoops are made from a base metal of 925 sterling silver. They are then plated in 18-karat gold for a gold finish, or rhodium for a silver finish.

All our classic hoops have an 'e-coating' which gives them an extra level of protection against the plating fading.

For silver hoops - rhodium is a valuable silvery-white noble metal that is part of the platinum family. A small amount is used to plate silver in order to stop it tarnishing or needing to be polished. Rhodium is not reactive and completely safe to use on jewellery.

Keeping your

Jewels new

Don't sleep, shower or exercise in your charms.
Classic hoops are fairly resilient because of their e-coating, but in general, treat your jewellery with care - especially the charms. Store them in a case or pouch. To clean, gently buff it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or silver cloth.

Fixing your

Loose hoops

Take notice if hoops or huggies aren't 'clicking' properly
Because all our hoops are made of a base metal of 925 sterling silver, the fastenings can become loose over time or bend out of shape.

This is easy to rectify and we recommend you do fix them at home as soon as you notice, to avoid losing anything.

Clasped hoops

For all our classic hoops:

If they become loose over time, they are very easy to tighten up. Simply close the hoop so that the post is snugly in its cradle and using tweezers, gently pinch the clasp. Don't pinch too tightly otherwise you will struggle to get it open again! Your hoops will be more secure again.

Hinged hoops

For Calypso, Blair, Serena, Ruby & Ruby Big Sister:

Be aware that if you close them too firmly, the post may bend out of shape. This can be easily bent back again.

Gently bend the post upwards with your finger pad and test closing it, bending the ear post carefully until it reconnects and clicks back into place.

Huggies

For all our huggies:

Be aware that if you close them too firmly, the post may bend out of shape. This can be easily bent back again.

Gently bend it with your finger pad and test closing it, bending the ear post gently until it reconnects and clicks back into place.

Charm clips

Using a charm clip is the best way to convert our earring charms onto a necklace charm or pendant. The charm clips are spring-loaded so all you need to do is push the claw inwards. If the claw is stiff, it should loosen over time. Just make sure it is fully closed once your charm is added.
